Review Summary: Excellent for $399
Review: I got this on black friday at Best Buy so we have had it for a year. Can't beat it for the price. I have had only 2 problems with it:
1) the SD slot no longer "holds" my memory card so I have to keep it inserted with my finger.
2) I also have had a problem with the wireless connectivity on this computer. The wireless connection disconnects randomly about once per day and says "No wireless networks found" although there are about 6 wireless networks in the neighborhood. The only way to fix this is to shut down the computer by holding down the on/off key for 5 seconds, then restarting. Someone else here said to upgrade this computer to the most recent BIOS and drivers, provided on the Sony website so I did so today. I will see if upgrading the hardware drivers and the BIOS fixes this problem completely.

Review Summary: good computer
Review: I bought my viao laptop at a Circuit City outlet for about $300 because it was a floor model. I've had it for about 6 months and everything is still working just great. I use the typical Microsoft programs and also use a number of photo correction and storage programs. Occasionally I watch videos on the laptop and the images is beautiful. I would recommend this machine.

Review Summary: Poor quality
Review: This is my second time buying Sony VAIO. I was reasonably happy with the first one until it suddenly died after 3 years. This one is also BADDDDDD! Actually very bad. Vista is a big part of it with small memory.
I had to send it for three times for repair within 6 month from purchase.
I will buy SONY no more.

Review Summary: good
Review: once you add a gig of ram and take out the adware, it runs really smoothly. the screen is a little excessively glossy, but overall it's been great. they even fixed it for free when the dvd player broke. so cool.

Review Summary: Not a good laptop
Review: The computer is very slow with 1GB of RAM and running Vista. It's loaded with all kinds of junk software (AOL,Norton, tons of Sony stuff). I'm sweating writing this because the computer gets so hot, even when not running much.
I had this for 3 months when it died with an "Operating system not found" error. I spent several hours/days dealing with Sony tech support trying a variety of things, and finally after they could not fix it they sent someone out to fix it since it was under warranty. They swapped out my hard drive and I lost everything.
If it weren't for the warranty and the fact Sony came to me to fix it for free, I think I would swear off Sony products, and I was a Sony die-hard. I had a Vaio before this and liked it, but this is a piece of junk that I would avoid. I won't be buying another VAIO!!
